EXPRESS ENTRY

The Express Entry Program (EE) is an online system that allows people to submit their profiles of their skills, education, and employment history to gain points through a specific calculator designed by the government. Depending on the types of traits that an applicant has, they are ranked through various factors and get points. The profiles which get the most points are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

3 main programs operate under EE are Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC). 
 

Application Process:

  • Find out if you are eligible: 

A pre-assessment is necessary to determine your eligibility to enter the Express Entry pool. You will be assessed based on your age, education, language, etc. 
 

  • Enter in the Express Entry Pool: 

Create an Express Entry Profile once you meet the eligibility criteria. You will then be given a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score. Now, you will be placed in a pool with other qualified candidates.

  • Wait for Invitation to apply (ITA)

An invitation to apply (ITA) is usually sent out to the candidates with the highest score in the pool in each EE draw. It is crucial to keep your EE profile up to date with any change. You can also increase your chance of getting invited by improving your language score or work experience

 

  • Apply for Permanent Residence (PR)

Once you receive an invitation to apply (ITA), you’ll have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence.

    • No. You may only have 1 profile at a time
